Originally purchasing surplus military coats after World War II, Gloverall first produced what is known as today’s Duffle Coat in 1954. Taking the Duffle Coat from its Wartime role as a utilitarian uniform to a symbol of 1960’s political activism, the iconic coats are still manufactured in England using leather fastenings and Buffalo horn toggles with a double faced check back fabric.
